🦖 Dinosaur Park and A Dad in Progress

“A Dad in Progress” started with a Dinosaur Park.
After spending the weekend creating a dinosaur park complete with an active volcano, my wife encouraged me to start this community/newsletter. She thought it was time to share not just the cool projects I do with my son, but also the challenges, realities, and lessons I’m learning along the way as a dad. I agree.
(Hint: The dinosaur park video walkthrough is at the end of this short post. Keep reading 😉)
About Me
Hi, I’m BK. I’m a dad of two wonderful kids - a baby (hello, sleepless nights!) and a kindergartner (next-level energy!). Life pulls me in many directions, from my hobbies and interests to a full-time job, side hustles, and parenting demands. I’m lucky to have a fantastic partner along for this journey.
A Dad in Progress
My journey as a dad is very much in progress, with a long way to go. Do dads ever truly retire? If they do, I’m nowhere near that finish line.
But there’s another layer to the name “A Dad in Progress”. Beyond being a dad right now, I’m also learning to be a dad. I’m figuring it out day by day, moment by moment. My “dad game” is still very much in progress.
Dinosaur Park
Welcome to N & Daddy & T Dinosaur Park🦖. Take a tour by watching the video below.
I do “projects” like this almost every weekend with my son. Whether it’s making home movies, arts and crafts, gardening, or construction projects, my son and I are always working on something fun. I’ll be sharing these projects here, along with my experiences, insights, and reflections on fatherhood.
Your Turn
This space isn’t just about me - it’s about us, dads. I’d love to hear how you spend time with your kids and what your own dad's journey looks like. “A Dad in Progress” is a place for us all to share our wins, challenges, and moments of growth.
Use the form below to join A Dad in Progress! As a welcome gift, you’ll receive a detailed guide on how we made our dinosaur park, complete with step-by-step instructions and all the materials you’ll need.
Welcome.
